We had a wonderful program on March 11. Suppose quilt shop out of Preston Idaho came and gave a wonderful trunk show of beautiful quilts. They also talked about the new trend of Modern quilts. They also showed a quilt from the 1800's. I hope we have some pictures of these wonderful quilts as alas, I was helping hold them up and didn't get any pictures.

For our Sew in we learned how to sew string quilt blocks and spiderweb blocks. Jolene Park showed the blocks that she finished. Didn't she do great? I hope the others that were there will take pictures of their blocks and post them for us to see.

We also had our show and tell.
Judy said that she is almost done making quilts for her grandkids.  Here is her latest.

Sue made a snuggle quilt for one of her grandkids.

Also  I hope those of you that are making a floor quilt are working on the pieces that you want to put on your quilt. And thinking about the arrangement  that you want.   Remember we are doing the floor quilts next month.

February 11, was our last meeting. We started the sew in making tool holders for the Guild to sell at National Quilt Day at the Fairfield center. A lot of the quilters were able to get those finished.  Since I am new to this, I didn't get any pictures of the tool holders, If anyone has a picture please feel free to add it using the comments link at the bottom of the post.

Our program and sew in for April will feature Cindy Hutchinson teaching us how to make floor quilts. This is a process that Cindy created.  There is a cost for the kit, and you want to be thinking of your design.  If you did not sign up in February, you MUST contact Cindy. Here are a couple of the floor quilts that Cindy has made.

For our program we had Ellen Haddock and Eileen Truscott from our guild show some of their scrap quilts. These were beautiful quilts and the program went so well with this years scrappy theme. We also asked the members to bring a few of their favorite scrappy quilts that they have made.

This is the table runner that the ladies started at the January Sew in.  In the meeting we had Quilters Attic come and talk about their store. They also went over some of the newer notions that they are carrying. Then they talked about Quiltsmart. This is a way of making a quilt by fusing scraps on a grid, and then sewing along the lines of the grid to make quilt tops. They carry many different designs using this fusable to make quilt tops.
